We are so excited to introduce and share the journey of our Junior Coaches Program with you. What started as a recognition of a need amongst our older teens to take on responsibilities and learn new skills as well as nurture their natural leadership skills, then developed into a program designed to fulfil those needs and more.
We launched in May 2024 and continue to work on developing the program. The program is aimed at developing holistic skills that include skills needed in their futures as working citizens. They are selected on a yearly contract basis, receive training at the field for coaching development and we also endeavor to source training such as first aid, cv drafting etc. Any additional training is dependent on funding within the year appointed. The coaches receive wages for their time on the field and will received reference letters which then reflects as job experience for their future positions, hopefully giving them a head start in the job industry once they leave school.
